Gunther Schmidt

We are sad to announce the passing of a stalwart supporter of Region Racing for over 40 years, on August 16th.  Gunther was known for both his competitiveness on track as well as his off track work as an official.  He was also a past president of CASC. Gunther is survived by his wife Laura, who has also been a long time supporter of motorsport.  In keeping with Gunther's wishes, no memorial service is planned.  BARC would like to offer our sympathies to his family and friends.  This is a shared loss for all of us, but his influence will continue to be felt in the Ontario Region.  Godspeed Gunther.
